Balbriggan 4 Bohemians U12 2

An inspired second half performance proved to be not enough to prevent a Bohemian loss to Balbriggan at Saint Molagas on Sunday morning. Bohs were unlucky to go in three goals down at half time, especially considering their airtight defending as a unit in the second half.

The team played very well under the command of new captain Luke Conroy who commanded the left wing from left full back in the second half. Lee Donoghue scored a well earned brace, taking the ball inside from the right wing before slotting home on both occasions.

Jimmy Cripps came on late in the first half at the centre of the park and made a real difference in the way Bohs played, helping to control the flow of the game and ensuring the team attacked with purpose.

Defensively, the Bohs back line were far better than the final score indicates and the team showed that they are competent when it comes to positioning defensively. Despite the leakiness in the first half, manager Glen Casey took a lot of positives from this encounter and said he was impressed with the team’s winning of the second half.
