Bohemians’ Under-12 side were held to a hard-fought draw away to Drumcondra this week after a stunning comeback at East Meath United last Sunday.
Lee O’Donoghue netted his second brace in as many weeks as Bohs twice took the lead before coming from behind and holding out for a draw.
The recently injured Michael Meehan sat on the bench as the game started but his introduction in the second half really changed the flow of the game says manager Glen Casey, and Meehan’s ability to advance the play up the field was ultimately rewarded with a well taken goal to even the score late in the match.
Bohs were ahead on the scoreboard twice but a lack of conviction in front of goal was the difference here in the end.
The side have been working hard on keeping possession and moving forward in training in recent weeks and this work on the training ground is becoming more and more evident on the playing field, with Bohs showcasing an ability to move forward well as a unit.
Cathal Hickey, who captained the side from full back on the day, was the man of the match this week, making a number of crucial tackles and, in turn, really influencing the flow of the game.
