Alban Hysa appointed Bohemians women’s team manager

Bohemian FC is delighted to announce the appointment of Alban Hysa as women’s senior team head coach.
A former manager of Treaty United’s senior women’s team, Hysa was in charge of the Bohemians WU17s this year, having previously also managed Peamount United WU19s where he won the WU19 national cup.
Originally from Albania, the 46-year-old moved to Ireland 25 years ago, lining out in the League of Ireland for Dublin City and Monaghan United.
Hysa said: “It is an honour and a privilege to be a part of this club, and I am absolutely delighted for the opportunity to lead the senior team.
“This is a club with such a rich history and all that it stands for resonates deeply with me. I’m looking forward to getting going and working with our talented players to build on the strong foundation we have here.
“I know the talent that exists at this club. We have really excellent prospects now transitioning from U17s, to our U19s and through to the first team.
“We are looking forward to building the pathways at the club, and giving young players a chance to reach their potential of playing for the first team, establishing themselves here and bringing success to the club.

“As a coach and manager, I have had a decade in the women’s game at different levels, including working in the FAI’s Emerging Talent Programme, at Bohs at MGL level.
“I have managed at senior level with Treaty United in the Women’s Premier Division and had a successful tenure with Peamount United’s U19s, where we won the national Cup and developed numerous talents now playing at the senior level.
“As an ex-League of Ireland player, I understand the importance of nurturing a competitive spirit within the team.
“My vision for the team aligns with the club’s ethos of excellence, community, and development. We want to push on as a team, see our players progress, and be successful.”

Former Shelbourne and Dundalk midfielder Alan Murphy will continue in his role as assistant manager, with Hysa adding: “Alan has a great connection with the players here. He is trusted and respected within the team, is a very knowledgeable coach and we will be counting on him.”
Congratulating Hysa on his appointment, Bohemian FC President Matt Devaney said: “Alban is a proven manager and coach in women’s football, who has helped develop talent in every role he has worked in.
“We want Bohemians to be the club that young women’s footballers want to come to and to establish themselves, and Alban’s vision and experience align with the club’s aspirations.
“We are delighted to have him on board. This is an exciting era for women’s football and a time of real growth.
“Never before have there been so many girls playing football in this country and the structures and interest in the women’s game is getting stronger every year.
“We have talented players at Bohemians who we have seen over the past couple of years are also brilliant ambassadors of our club.
“Senior players in the Women’s Premier Division are now real role models for girls aspiring to be footballers like never before.
“We have seen that with the response our players have received when volunteering on behalf of the club in our community.
“There is a really strong foundation there, it’s something that Alban buys into and wants to build on, and we are delighted to welcome him to the role.”
