Update from the Bohemian Climate Justice Initiative

There has been a lot happening under our climate justice initiative, and now we need your help to make the various projects and initiatives a success.
We are excited to announce that Bohs are leading the Football for Climate Justice project in collaboration with La Liga, St. Pauli, Werder Bremen, FC Twente, Real Betis, Club Bruges, and Ferencvárosi.
The project aims to understand what clubs can do to support communities in the face of climate change. We need your input, so please fill out a short survey that should take no more than five minutes. You can find the survey here: https://form.jotform.com/223132324289351
We are also delighted to introduce The Spark project. This project seeks to accelerate local climate action and build community wealth through a community-led development approach. We are confident that with your help, we can achieve our goals and make a real impact.
We have partnered with Connecting Cabra, Cosybatter, Football Association Ireland, Grangegorman Development Agency, Mountjoy Prison, Neighbourhood Network, Phibsborough Village Climate Club, Rothar, Stoneybatter Pride of Place and Technological University Dublin to deliver this unique initiative – a first of its kind anywhere in the world.

The Bohemian Way will launch on March 18th at 12pm at the Bandstand in the Phoenix Park. The launch event will include music, poetry and talks, as well as a walking tour to Dalymount. The Bohemian Way app will go live that day too, giving fans the opportunity to travel through Dublin 7, taking in the history of Bohemians, the community, and songs and stories.
As a Creative Climate Action project funded by Creative Ireland, the app will also provide ways for people in the community to get involved with collective climate action initiatives happening in Dublin 7. We’re bringing the cooperative philosophy of Bohemians into local climate action.
We have teamed up with Dublin CSA to create a Bohemians Community Supported Agriculture initiative. CSA is a way for communities to support local farmers by subscribing to a farm’s harvest.
Our first call is now fully subscribed, but if you are interested in being part of the initiative, please email Seán at climateofficer@bohemians.ie. If there is sufficient additional interest, we will explore ways of expanding the initiative to other farms.
We need your help! We are looking for volunteers to come forward and help with Bohemia Cycling, the organizing of free tickets to women’s matches for fans that cycle, the Bohemian CSA, and other climate activities taking place in the coming months. We want to hear from you and work together towards a sustainable future. If you would like to volunteer in this or any other area of the club, send your details to jimmy@bohemians.ie.
We look forward to seeing you soon.
