Goals from Keith Buckley, Izzy Akinade, Kurtis Byrne and Derek Prendergast gave Bohemians a 4-1 victory against Athlone Town at Dalymount Park on Saturday in their final pre-season game before the league kicks off next Friday.
The visitors took the lead through Emeka Onwubiko on 13 minutes but Bohs hit back on 44 minutes when Buckley was on hand to fire home the rebound after Akinade’s initial effort was parried away.
An Akinade header on 45 minutes gave Bohs the advantage just on the stroke of half-time before second-half goals from Byrne (47) and Prendergast (71) added gloss to the win.
