Bohemians are delighted to announce two history events as part of the club’s 125th anniversary programme. These events, on 1 and 3 October are also part of the Dublin Festival of History programme and are organised in association with Phizzfest.
On Thursday 1 October, a History Ireland Hedge School will take place at Dalymount Park with the title, Dublin in 1890 – when Bohemians were born.
This will be a panel discussion with historians on the social, cultural and political conditions of Dublin in 1890 when a group of students met to found Bohemian Football Club.

Chaired by Tommy Graham, editor, History Ireland, the panel will comprise: Donal Fallon (Come Here To Me blog), Dr Mary McAuliffe (UCD), Dr David Dickson (TCD, Author of Dublin – the Making of a Capital City), and Dr Ciaran Priestley (Bohemian FC).

Two days later, on Saturday 3 October, Bohemians will lead a Tour of Bohemian Graves at Glasnevin Cemetery. This will leave at 11 am from the Finglas Road entrance of the cemetery and end at the Prospect Square entrance.
Our tour will include the graves of Gerard O’Sullivan, who died from playing injuries in 1931, Richard Hooper, who was one of two brothers to captain Bohemians in the 1900s-10s, Joe Wickham, a club official who became a long-serving secretary of the FAI, Emmet Dalton, an army captain and later film producer who was a player and president of the club in the 1920s, Paddy Andrews, a brother of ‘Tod’ Andrews and club captain in the 1930s, and Jeremiah (Sam) Robinson, who played for Bohemians and Ireland in the mid-1920s.
