Bohemian FC is delighted to confirm the signing of Orlagh Fitzpatrick.

The 19-year-old joins from Treaty United and is Ken Kiernan’s first signing since being appointed women’s team manager last month.

Fitzgerald, who previously played for Peamount United and DLR Waves, is expected to be joined by more new signings in the coming days.

Fitzpatrick said: “I grabbed the opportunity to join this club with both hands as it’s a fantastic club with a fantastic reputation.

“I know that Ken is looking to play a style of football that suits me attacking-wise. I always look to get forward and it’s something I want to be a part of. I think we can work with each other and go to do what we both want to do with the club.

“Personally, I will be looking to score week in, week out if I can and to assist, depending on where I am playing. But everyone at the club is of the same mindset that we want to go on and do big things this season, so the aim is silverware.

“I have met all the girls, everyone is very welcoming and very friendly. They are a very talented group, and obviously I know some of them from having played against them. There is a very good group here, and I think we will gel well on and off the pitch.”

Kiernan said: “Orlagh is a really talented underage International, who has come through the Peamount Academy

“She has played for their senior team and most recently with Treaty United. She is currently the scorer currently for her college team in Maynooth, and she was also nominated for the Goal of the Season Award with Treaty.

“She shows incredible vision on the pitch and is able to find space in the final third so well for herself. She has a super first touch and acceleration, and is brilliant at linking up play with a lethal eye for goal. I’m delighted to get her on board.”

Meanwhile, Bohemian FC can also today confirm the departures of Ciara Maher and Mia Dodd. We thank both Ciara and Mia for their service to the club and we wish them the very best of luck for the future.
