Bohemians returned to training at Dalymount Park on Monday - Sportsfile

Dear member,

As you are probably aware, Bohemians, along with all other SSE Airtricity League clubs, met with representatives from the FAI on Thursday and Friday to discuss a potential pathway for the resumption of this year’s season.

The club has kept up a constant dialogue with other clubs, the FAI and Uefa over the course of the Covid-19 lockdown.

The club’s board has considered the proposals on offer over the weekend and further discussions between the clubs and the Association will take place before any final decisions are made.

All clubs agreed to respect the confidentiality of the negotiations while they are ongoing, so we are not yet in a position to give any further information.

However, some of the figures quoted in recent media reports, which may have caused supporters some concern, are somewhat misleading.

We are hopeful that we will have a clearer picture in the near future and we will provide further updates when we are in a position to do so.

As you know, the Bohemians first team returned to training last Monday at Dalymount Park, while all results from our first team and backroom team since regular Covid-19 testing began on May 25 have thus far returned negative.

We remain committed to the aspiration of our first team returning to play football this season and competing in the Europa League, while protecting the club’s finances and income streams as best we can in doing so.

We once again thank you for the patience you have shown the club throughout this period.

This is a very difficult time for everyone. Your support and understanding has once again proved the strength of our fan-owned football club in our 130th year.

The Board of Bohemian Football Club
