Bohemian F.C. finished the season in an impressive third place, securing a return to European competition for the first time since the 2012-13 season.

As well as a return to continental football 2020 also sees four games of the European Championship being played in Dublin’s Aviva Stadium.

To mark this Dublin City Council libraries are hosting a series of talks on football in Dublin, so what better time to celebrate Bohemians’ European adventures.

Join us in the Jackie Jameson Bar, Dalymount Park on Saturday, December 7th at 12:30pm where Bohs member Gerard Farrell will make a presentation entitled “Bohs in Europe – the early years”.

While many fans will remember games against Aberdeen, Rhyl, BATE and even Rangers this is a much longer history of Bohs taking on Europe (and the world’s) best and brightest.

This talk will focus on foreign tours as well as challenge matches in Dalymount that took place through the 1920s and 30s featuring teams from France, Holland, Belgium, Germany, South African and even Peru as Bohs represented the league and the fledgling state on football pitches both home and abroad.

The event is free but we hope those attending may make a small donation towards the good work of the Bohemian Foundation.
