B won the inaugural Irish Amputee Football Association National League Senior Cup in Middleton yesterday.
James Boyle claimed all three of Bohs’ goals as the Gypsies beat Cork City 1-0 and rivals Shamrock Rovers 2-0 at Knockgriffin Park, while Amanda King played a starring role.
Both the competition and the Bohs team were organised by Christy McElligott, a former St Patrick’s Athletic footballer who is now an FAI Football for All Coach.
McElligott said: “These games were the pilot now for what we hope will be an extended league with more League of Ireland clubs involved in March.
“Everyone involved had a brilliant time yesterday and it’s something we want to build upon. It exceeded all expectations.”
