After delivering what Keith Long believes was their best 90-minute performance of the season, Bohemians are determined standards will not drop against Finn Harps tomorrow.
Eighth-placed Harps host seventh-placed Bohs at Finn Park with just five points separating the sides.
Having amassed 10 points from their previous four games, a confident Bohs came unstuck against champions Dundalk eight days ago.
An 89th-minute suckerpunch was all that separated the sides as the Lilywhites made it five wins in a row.
But Bohs earned much praise for their performance and will have been disappointed not to have earned at least a point for their efforts.
Manager Long said: “We had shown in patches in other games what we are capable of but I think that’s the best we’ve played over 90 minutes all season.
“We have to keep searching for that level of performance. The challenge for us now is to replicate that.”
Harps, another team battling for survival, present a different challenge.
Long added: “Finn Harps are obviously in and around us at the moment, so it’s an important game for both teams.
“We cannot afford to let our performance levels drop.
“Harps are a very resilient and determined team. They pick up results and are very effective, so we have to be ready for them.
“Our drive and determination is going to have to match theirs.”
TEAM NEWS
Bohs welcome back Dan Byrne and Oscar Brennan from suspension.
Georgie Poynton, who sat out the Dundalk game due to the terms of his loan arrangement, also returns.
New recruits Ciaran O’Connor (on loan from Dundalk) and Keith Dalton (signed from Dundalk) will go straight into the matchday squad after playing in Saturday’s friendly against FC United of Manchester.
It is hoped that former Sunderland defender Dan Casey, who signed on Tuesday, will also feature in the squad should international clearance come through in time. He also featured against FC United as a trialist.
Bohs will, however, be without skipper Derek Pender (hamstring) and fellow defender Warren O’Hora (illness).
Meanwhile, Jamie Doyle and Kaleem Simon have left the club by mutual consent, while fellow winger Dean Casey has joined Cabinteely until the end of the season to gain first-team experience.

Bohemians are delighted to welcome Dan Casey to the club.
The 19-year-old, who can play at right-back or centre-back, signs after four years with Sunderland and featured in Bohs’ friendly against FC United of Manchester on Saturday.
A graduate of St Joseph’s Boys AFC, he has represented Ireland at international level up to and including Under-19 level.
Bohemians manager Keith Long said: “I’ve known Dan since he was with St Joseph’s. He was a very sought-after player before going over to Sunderland.
“I’m delighted to sign him. He’s a big, powerful lad. He’s a player who I believe will be a good addition to the squad.
“We’ve got someone coming home who is hungry to succeed and who wants to play.
“He’s had four years as a young pro at Sunderland and has played at Under-23 level there. Now he wants first-team football.
“I think we’ve got someone who feels he’s got a bit of a point to prove and I believe he will do that at Dalymount.”
It is intended that Casey will, subject to international clearance, go straight into the first-team squad for Bohs’ trip to play Finn Harps in Ballybofey on Friday.

Keith Long has told Bohemians to relish the challenge of taking on the standard-setters of Irish football tonight.
Three-in-a-row champions Dundalk come to Dalymount after winning their last four games in a row, scoring 15 goals and conceding none in the process.
But Long is bullish. His side are unbeaten in four too with 10 points from a possible 12.
He said: “This is an opportunity to go head-to-head with the reigning champions. They’re a team who have set the standard for domestic football in recent years.
“Dundalk will feel they are hitting top form as they enter into their European campaig and we will have to be at our very best to get something from the game.
“It is a great opportunity for our boys to test themselves against a top side and it’s a challenge that I believe we are ready for as we come into the game with a good run of recent results.”
Bohs will, however, be without Dan Byrne and Oscar Brennan through suspension.
Ciaran O’Connor, who joined Bohs yesterday until the end of the season, and Georgie Poynton are also unavailable under the terms of their loan agreements from Dundalk.
But Rob Cornwall (hip) returns from injury and could line up at the back alongside promising defender Warren O’Hora, who made his league debut off the bench against St Patrick’s Athletic last month and made his first league start in the victory against Sligo Rovers last time out.
Long said: “It will be extremely difficult without Dano, Oscar and George. But Rob coming back is a big bonus. We feel there is healthy competition for places across the squad.
“The players have been really good showing great desire and hunger on the training ground, working extremely hard to improve individually and collectively.
“I believe we are now seeing the benefits of that in our performances.
“We have done okay so far this season against teams the are in and around us in the table, so the challenge for us tonight is to see how far we have come as a group and to get up against Dundalk, test our opponents, test ourselves, test our skill levels and to have a go.”
The arrival of striker O’Connor further strengthens Long’s squad following the additions of Stephen Donnelly and Keith Dalton.
Long hopes to further strengthen his squad in the coming weeks, something that would not have been achievable were it not for the support of members and fans for the Player Fund.
He added: “I would once again reiterate our appreciation of your efforts as supporters to help us raise funds to bring in some new players and to try and make the squad stronger in the July transfer window.”

Under the terms of the agreement, Westbrook Motors will provide significant financial and transport support for the club. They will also work with the club on a number of innovative content and fan engagement pieces, including what is being described as the vehicle equivalent of the crossbar challenge for their planned “Back of the Bed” promotion with the L200 Pick-up truck.
Bohemian FC Honorary Secretary Stephen Lambert said: “The competition for sponsorship is getting tougher and tougher so the challenge for us is to continue to deliver value and innovate.

Keith Long has expressed his wish to thank Bohemians members and supporters for clubbing together to back efforts to strengthen his squad.
With the transfer window opening on July 1, a fans’ player fund was launched earlier this month to increase the club’s playing budget for the remainder of the season.
Supporters, who feel they are in a position to do so, can still donate to the fund here at playerfund.bohemians.ie.
Bohs manager Long said: “Other clubs are privately owned and have investors backing big budgets.
“We don’t have that luxury at Bohs. We have dedicated volunteers working hard behind the scenes to get funds into the club but we know resources are still tight.
“But what we do have at Bohs is something special. This club has been continuously owned by its supporters for 127 years and that bond is incredible.
“It’s honestly a privilege to manage Bohs and to feel a part of its history.
“We have a proud and passionate group of fans who will do everything to try and help us be successful.
“Supporters dug deep when times got tough to keep the club afloat over the last decade.
“Now they’re continuing to show that dedication with their support for this fund and, for that, myself and all the playing and coaching staff are extremely grateful.”
Long is expecting a busy transfer window across the league.
He has already recruited promising young winger Keith Dalton from Dundalk and hopes to make further additions in the coming days.
He said: “Given the make-up of the division this year, we all know our rivals are going to strengthen.
“With the restructure of the league, it is a huge battle for all clubs. It’s a congested table and everyone is scrapping for anything that will give them an advantage.”
Given the manner of the Gypsies’ 3-1 comeback win over St Patrick’s Athletic a fortnight ago and confident 2-0 victory over Sligo on Friday, Bohs fans’ tails are up as the team climbed to sixth in the table.
Long added: “The enthusiasm in the stands is rubbing off on our players – I think people can see that from our last two results.
“The togetherness between players and fans at the end of both games is something we want to replicate.
“Nobody at the club can afford even a hint of complacency and we will guard against that. But with that vocal support behind us, we have renewed confidence.”
A reminder that with no game this weekend, our next fixture sees Bohs host champions Dundalk this Wednesday July 5 at Dalymount Park.
That will be followed by a friendly against FC United of Manchester at 3pm on Saturday July 8. Our bars are open from 1pm for what we hope will be enjoyable day of football and music between two fan-owned clubs.

Bohemians are delighted to announce the signing of Keith Dalton from Dundalk.
The winger, 19, progressed through to the Lilywhites’ first-team squad from their under-19s.
Manager Keith Long said: “Keith is an exciting young wide player. He’s very talented and hungry to do well.
“We’re delighted to have him at the club having watched his progress with Dundalk’s under-19s.
“He will give us good options down the right side.”
The move will also see Dalton reunited with Georgie Poynton, who has had his loan spell from Dundalk extended until the end of the season.
The duo made their first league starts for Stephen Kenny’s side together against St Patrick’s Athletic in October of last year.
Long is expected to make further additions to his squad when the transfer window opens next week.

DJs Dan Lambert, Ste Donnelly, Sam Gregan, Shane Walsh, Sam McGrath, Richie O’Connell, Jamie Whelan plus FCUM guest DJs will play classic sounds that have echoed around the terraces at home and abroad: Northern Soul, reggae, punk, mod, new wave, Madchester, hacienda sounds, acid house and more.

Bohemians’ game against Dundalk, originally scheduled for Friday July 7th, has been brought forward to Wednesday July 5th, Dalymount Park, 7.45pm.
Our away fixture against Cork City, originally scheduled for Friday June 30, has been postponed with no new date yet decided.
Both changes are to facilitate the opposition clubs’ European campaigns.
