Danny McGrath and Nickson Okosun sign professional contracts

Bohemian FC is delighted to confirm that academy players Danny McGrath and Nickson Okosun have signed their first professional contracts with the club.

Midfielder McGrath and striker Okosun, both aged 16, played for St Kevin’s Boys before joining and progressing through the club’s academy teams.

They both featured heavily for the Bohs U19s in 2022, winning the Enda McGuill Cup at that level having won the U17 league the previous season.

The duo, who both represented the Ireland U17s in UEFA European Championship qualifiers in 2022, join last year’s U19 captain Cian Byrne, who also signed his first contract last month, in the professional ranks.

Bohemian FC Head of Academy Craig Sexton said: “We are really pleased with the development of both Danny and Nickson.

“Their progress is a testament to their own hard work and ability but also to the coaches who have nurtured them every step of the way at both St Kevin’s and the academy teams.

“Our long-term strategy is to keep the best young players at the club. We want to reward talented players with the right attitude, and get them to commit to the club.

“Danny and Nickson very much fit that profile. We will look after them both in terms of their development as footballers but as people too in assisting with their education.

“They are two really good lads. They are talented but have the right attitude to push themselves further, and we are looking forward to seeing how they progress with the U19s this season.”
