St Kevin’s partner with Bohemian FC Academy’s new affiliate club model

We are delighted to confirm that St Kevin’s Boys will continue its relationship with Bohemian FC under our academy’s new affiliate club model.
The new arrangement will see St Kevin’s join with three clubs previously announced as affiliate clubs – Belvedere FC, Castleknock Celtic FC and Phoenix AFC – under the new model from next year.
Bohemian FC Head of Academy Craig Sexton said:
“The growth of our model is a significant step in an exciting time for player development in this country. We want to work together on club, coach and player developments with every affiliate we partner with.

“We are therefore delighted to be evolving our partnership with St Kevin’s within our new academy model, alongside Belvedere FC, Castleknock Celtic FC and Phoenix FC, and we hope to announce additional partners in the near future.
“Bohemians and St Kevin’s have worked very closely together in successfully developing and bringing players through for many years now, and we will continue to do so, in tandem with our new affiliate clubs, as our academy structure continues to grow and evolve.
“We want to have a visible and proactive presence with all affiliate clubs and, likewise, them with us, so we are therefore delighted that St Kevin’s will be a part of that, and that our relationship, which has strong foundations, will continue in the new model together with all our new partners.”

St Kevin’s Football Director Ken Donohoe said:
“St Kevin’s Boys Club are happy to be in the position to continue to offer a pathway in this new affiliate agreement to all of our players to achieve their full potential, albeit in a different arrangement to our previous arrangement, which over the past six years has proved so beneficial to both clubs.
“In that time, close to 30 players who came through the ranks at SKB have gone on to play first-team football for Bohemians with some, such as Ross Tierney, Dawson Devoy, Jamie Mullins, Sean Grehan, Dan Mandroiu, and Evan Ferguson, moving on to a higher level.
“This shows the level of talent that our club has a record of producing for many years, and no doubt there are many many more young players in our system who aspire to reach the same level in the not too distant future.
“With the club planning to introduce football for girls from the start of the 2023 season next August, there will also be a pathway in the future for these players too.”
