The People's Club

Happy International Women’s Day to all Bohemians home and abroad.

International Women’s Day this year falls on the same week a Bohs senior team competes in the Women’s National League for the very first time.

One of the greatest strides our club has made in recent seasons has been the belated but rapid growth of our girls and women sections.

This coming Saturday marks another step in the progress of those sections when the Bohs senior team kick off the 2020 season with a home game against Athlone Town at the Oscar Traynor Centre at 2pm.

This is a huge step forward in our 130th year and the result of hard work by a small but extremely dedicated group of volunteers, coaches and players to whom we are all very grateful.

The Bohs girls section started in 2017 with the introduction of the Girls Academy and the section played its first games in 2018.

The girls section now has nine teams competing in various age groups, while the Saturday morning academy prepares young players for those teams.

The club entered the U17s Women’s National League last season, an important step towards joining the senior league this year.

We hope as many of you as possible can get behind the women’s senior team at the Oscar Traynor Centre this Saturday.

Kick-off is 2pm, admission is free and all support is most welcome.
