An exhilarating second half of football saw Bohs under-10 side put five goals past a helpless Malahide goalkeeper, sealing a 7-3 win for the Gypsies at Malahide Castle in their last league game of the season.
While the game started slowly, manager Mick O’Neill made a number of changes after 10 minutes which helped to drive the team to victory. The under-10 team is composed of accomplished passers, and while O’Neill says their shooting is improving, he notes that they must work on defending set pieces.

Coilin Nesbitt proved to be a rock at the centre of defence, putting on a man of the match display despite playing in this role for the first time. Nesbitt was inexperienced at centre back, however, he proved to be a solid option on the day, organising the defence like it was second nature to him.
Left winger Dylan McKay and defensive midfielder Daniel Lawless scored two goals a piece at Malahide Castle on Saturday, while Kobi Brown, Christopher Dunne and Karl Moore were the other names on the scoresheet.
The team’s work on the training ground really showed as they won a number of high balls in the middle of the park, helping them in their dominance of this encounter.
O’Neill said that Kyle Staunton played a pivotal role in ensuring the win and also pointed to the fact that goalkeeper Cory Geoghegan put on a top notch performance.
O’Neill was also very impressed with his team’s ability to counter attack effectively and said that this was crucial in helping the under-10 side on their way to the win.
