Strength & Conditioning Coach LOI U17 team
Bohemian FC would like to invite applicants for the role of Strength & Conditioning Coach. Bohemian FC are one of Ireland’s leading football clubs, winning the League of Ireland on 11 occasions, and the FAI cup 7 times. The club are based in North Dublin, and having been founded in 1890, are the oldest League of Ireland club. Bohemian FC is 100% owned by the members of the club.
Due to the specialised nature of the position, individuals who are qualified, or are currently undertaking a Bachelors degree in Sports Science/Strength & Conditioning or a related or equivalent field may apply.
Description
Bohemian FC are fully committed to staff members continued up-skilling and education by providing practical experience within a soccer specific population, and working with a team of experienced and qualified staff using the most up-to-date technology and sports science methodology. This is a fantastic opportunity for undergraduate students to work with a highly respected league of Ireland club with a proactive youth management. This position will be on a volunteer basis (approx. 6-8 hours per week depending on ability, this will increase some weeks depending on the job’s schedule).
Successful applicants will join the existing coaching team, working closely with the Head of Performance Enhancement, Team Coaches, and the Youth Development Officer.
Specific Experience:
The applicant should possess:
• Previous experience in delivering S&C/Sports science support to soccer players.
• Previous experience in delivering team based S&C sessions and 1 to 1 training programs.
• Experience in the rehabilitation and Strength and Conditioning services to youth soccer players to enhance athletic development, improve performance, and reduce likelihood of injury.
Skill Requirements
The applicant should possess:
• A thorough understanding of the physical and physiological demands of youth soccer
• A very good understanding of scientific methods to monitor a players’ performance, and conduct fitness testing in youth soccer
• Knowledge of free body exercises and running mechanics
• Highly self-motivated with the ability to motivate others
• Enthusiasm and willingness to be flexible in approach to achieve youth developmental goals
• An ability to produce verbal and written reports
• Detailed knowledge of current coaching and training processes.
• Highest standards of professional and personal conduct, especially confidentiality.
• Long term commitment to working within a multi-disciplinary team.
• Outgoing and friendly manner, with a desire to learn new skills
Applicants must be available to attend management and team up-skilling sessions in the Dublin area and abide by Bohemian FC professional code of practice.
