U15s and U19s advance to league finals

Bohs and St Kevin's backroom teams salute U15s

Both our U15s and U19s face a Dublin derby in their respective SSE Airtricity League finals.

At St Kevin’s pitch at Shanowen Road yesterday, Ger Browne’s Bohs-SKB U15s battled from 2-0 down to win 4-3 after extra-time.

Gavin O’Brien helped himself to a perfect hat-trick in normal time – left foot, header and right foot… and he’s a right-back!

O’Brien’s heroics came at a price – he was forced off with cramp. But it was his replacement at right-back Jason Moloney who sealed the win in the last minute of extra-time.

Bohs-SKB will play St Pat’s in the league final. No date has been set for the decider.

On Saturday, the Bohemians U19s reached their second SSE Airtricity League final in two years.

Craig Sexton’s side built up a 2-0 lead with goals from Steven Nolan and Ali Reghba.

But the Students fought back to make it 2-2 in injury-time. Extra-time could not separate the sides so the game went to a penalty shootout where Bohs won 5-3, with Cristian Magerusan netting the decisive score.

Champions last year and Enda McGuill Cup winners this term, the U19s will now face Shamrock Rovers in Tallaght Stadium in the final. That game will take place on either October 30 or October 31.

Before that, Sexton’s side face FC Midtjylland in the return leg of the Uefa Youth League tie at 7pm this Wednesday.

They were two goals down in the first leg in Herning, Denmark, on October 3 but rallied to claim an important away goal through Steven Nolan to give them everything to play for in the return leg at Dalymount Park.

We ask all members and supporters to make an effort to attend this game – representing our league in Uefa competition is a huge reward for a group of players who have represented our club with distinction in recent seasons. They deserve your support.

U12s go free, general admission is just €5. Membership cards and season tickets are valid but we ask supporters to consider making a voluntary donation towards the matchday expenses.
