Bohemian FC and Camile officially marked their new partnership this week with members of the first team and backroom staff having a sit-down meal in the restaurant.

Under the arrangement, Camile Thai Phibsborough provide post-match food for the first team after every home game in 2018.

Bohemians Head of Performance Cian McCaffrey said: “As soon as the final whistle goes, our focus as a team shifts to recovery.

“A big part in our recovery protocol is the players’ nutritional intake after a game. For our players, after a tough 90 minutes, their glycogen stores are depleted whilst there is a significant increase in muscle protein breakdown. Immediately after a game, is our best window of opportunity to negate these unwanted physiological adaptations.

“Camile Thai Phibsborough have been a huge help for us this year in combating this. Nutritionally it’s perfect.

“They have provided great, fresh, healthy sources of much-needed carbohydrates and protein. It has been an easy sell to the lads too – they have loved the different combination of dishes on offer.”

Bohemians Marketing Director Daniel Lambert said: “Our new partnership with Camile Thai is something we are delighted with.

“We constantly aim to align ourselves with local businesses that have the same values as the club. When it came to a food partner for our players, there was only one choice.

“The team at Camile provide healthy, nutritious and delicious dishes after each game. The players love it, as do Keith Long, his assistant Trevor Croly and the backroom staff.

“Their Phibsborough branch, along with their Village Restaurant, are just seconds from Dalymount Park and are part of the fabric of the area.

“Bohs is a special club, one in which the fans are the owners, and they consistently support those who support the club.”

Camile Marketing Manager Daniel Greene said: “We are delighted to be cooking for Bohemians after every home game and working so closely with a team with such history and presence in the Phibsborough community.

“Having the lads in this week, you could see how much the club and the area means to them and for us. It is a perfect partnership.

“At Camile, we strive to encourage people to live better with a healthy and active lifestyle and we try do our part providing quality and healthy meal options.”
